Foundations Faith Formation

Foundations Faith Formation weaves together the education of students in grades Pre-K to 8 with the celebration of Sunday Eucharist. By providing opportunities for children to grow together in knowledge of God and their faith, to prepare for and celebrate the sacraments and liturgy of the Church, and to serve God through the service of others, our Foundations program helps carry the Gospel message of Christ from the table of the Lord to the table of our homes, communities, and our world.
Program Overview
Our Foundations Family Faith Formation serves children from Pre-K through 8th grade and their parents and is designed to nurture spiritual development within the child and their home. The program consists of two options for families based on preference and schedules. Both programs are designed to provide opportunities for children to grow in their faith, strengthen their relationship with God, and learn what it means to live as disciples of Christ.
These experiences provide a friendly, open environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, sharing their experiences, and building faith-filled friendships. Our programs are intentionally designed to support and partner with parents in their role as primary teachers of the Catholic faith.
Throughout the year, parents will be offered resources, guidance, and opportunities for family faith formation that extend beyond our own walls.
Catechist Information
We are currently seeking substitute catechists to support our Religious Education program. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact one of our Religious Education Directors. Serving as a substitute catechist is a wonderful way to support the Church, share your gifts, and become more involved in our parish community.
Grades Pre-K and Kindergarten
Foundations for Pre-K and kindergarten uses stories from the Old and New Testament to immerse children into the Catholic faith. Guided discussions, interactive activities, and prayerful reflection help young learners make meaningful connections between these stories and their own lives, nurturing an early understanding of God’s endless love and mercy.
Grades 1 and 2
Foundations for first and second graders introduces children to God’s promise of a Savior and the fulfillment of that promise in the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus. Through Scripture-based instruction, prayer, and age-appropriate activities, students explore key moments in Jesus’ life and grow in understanding of God’s love and mercy. The program also provides intentional preparation for the Sacraments of First Penance and First Communion, helping children develop an awareness of forgiveness and the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
Grades 3 to 6
Foundations for students in grades three through six deepens understanding of our Catholic faith through a variety of activities designed to engage growing learners. Students explore the teachings of the Church as they are lived and celebrated through the Mass and the rhythms of the liturgical year. Students also explore how Catholic beliefs guide everyday choices and actions, encouraging them to live out their faith through active participation and service within their community and beyond.
Grades 7 to 8
Foundations for seventh and eighth graders is a two year journey designed to build on previous learning and experiences and prepare young people for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Throughout the program, students grow in their understanding of God’s Word through prayer, discussion, and reflection, learning how to discern what God is calling them to in their daily lives. They are invited to live out their faith through active discipleship, serving both the Church and the wider community in meaningful ways. This experience helps students recognize that they are called by God and supported by the Church as they grow in faith. Confirmation strengthens their commitment to follow Jesus Christ and to live as joyful, engaged disciples now and into the future.
